I'm a nature lover and landscape painting on location "gets me out there". Out there is all of Idaho, especially our local mountains, lakes, and rivers in all their grandeur. I refer to this fabulous studio as "My Own Backyard". This land is our legacy. I hope to impress the viewer of my art how precious and beautiful our natural environment is. For me soft pastels are the ideal painting medium to express my romance with the wet. Plein air painting is truly an opportunity to experience the Divine. This relationship is so exciting. When you find the right location and express it with pastels, it's magical. The final touches of my paintings are completed in my indoor studio.

My painting buddy and I would take off in her big SUV loaded with our gear, food and drinks. The ideal location was the goal and a gift from the divine. The panoramics excited me. Returning on a second day was required on most and at least a couple of days to finish at home base.
My series of thirteen original wolves was a "Hit". In print they still look great.
In my indoor studio I create large colorful watercolors of endangered animals and wild flowers.
